Impact Crusher
Impact crushers reduce material through high-speed impact rather than primarily by compression. Depending on machine design, impact energy is generated by rotor-mounted blow bars, hammers or accelerated material.
HSI and VSI Crushers
- HSI – Horizontal Shaft Impact Crusher: commonly used in primary or secondary stages for suitable materials.
- VSI – Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher: commonly used in tertiary/final-stage crushing and shaping applications.
Impact crushers are often associated with high reduction ratios and shaped products, but wear economics become increasingly important as material abrasiveness rises. Selection for granite or basalt should therefore be based on the actual rock properties and required process.
