Vibrating Feeder Hopper
A vibrating feeder hopper is used at the material-receiving stage of a crushing and screening plant to regulate the flow of stone, rock or other bulk material into the next process unit.
How Does a Vibrating Feeder Work?
The Turkish source describes a mechanism with two eccentric masses rotating in opposite directions. The resulting vibration moves material forward and allows the feed rate to be increased or reduced according to plant requirements.
Feeder dimensions and hopper volume vary according to site layout, feed size, target capacity and the crusher arrangement. The correct unit should therefore be selected as part of the overall process design rather than as an isolated component.
Why Is Controlled Feeding Important?
- Helps maintain a more stable load on the primary crusher.
- Reduces sudden surges of material into downstream equipment.
- Supports more consistent screening and conveying performance.
- Allows the plant feed rate to be adjusted to the actual operating condition.
Selection Criteria
Important parameters include maximum feed size, bulk density, moisture, hopper geometry, required throughput, feeder width/length and drive arrangement. Exact dimensions and performance should be verified from current MakMach project data.
